The Appointed Times : Celebrating Our Messiah's Eternal Story
The Appointed Times : Celebrating Our Messiah's Eternal Story
From Passover to Tabernacles - Walking in the Rhythm of Grace
"We do not observe these days to be saved. We celebrate them because we are saved. Like a child who delights in a parent's anniversary, we rejoice in the Father's appointed times, not out of duty, but out of love for Yahusha our Messiah."
"These seven Biblical feasts (Leviticus 23) are not 'Jewish holidays' alone. They are the appointed encounters between YHUH and all who call on His name, Jew and non-Jew, joined as one in Messiah."
"Speak to the children of Israel and say to them: ‘The appointed times of YHUH, which you shall proclaim as holy convocations, these are My appointed times" - Leviticus 23:2.
Spring Feasts - The First Coming of Messiah
The Lamb, The Leaven, The Resurrection, The Wind
"With humble hearts and lifted hands, we remember how Yahusha fulfilled the Spring Feasts to the very hour. These are not mere history lessons. They are our living testimony. When we taste the bitter herb at Passover, we weep. When we search for leaven, we repent. When we celebrate Firstfruits, we shout: ‘He is risen!’ And when Shavuot comes, we feel the same wind of the Spirit that birthed the early assembly."
Pesach (Passover) -
The Lamb of YHUH
"Purge out the old leaven, that you may be a new batch, just as you are unleavened. For indeed Messiah, our Passover Lamb, has been sacrificed - 1 Corinthians 5:7.
"We gather for a humble Seder meal, not to re-sacrifice Messiah, but to remember His sacrifice. Every believer is welcome. No Hebrew required. Only a hungry heart."
Chag HaMatzot (Unleavened Bread) -
The Sinless Life
"For seven days we remove leaven, a picture of sin removed from our lives by Yahusha's sinless blood. This is not legalism. This is gratitude."
Firstfruits (Yom HaBikkurim) -
The Resurrection Power
"But now Messiah has been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep" - 1 Corinthians 15:20.
"On this Sunday during Pesach week, we don't just say 'He is risen', we shout it, we dance it, we live it. Because His resurrection is our guarantee."
Shavuot (Pentecost) -
The Spirit on All Flesh
"I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh" - Joel 2:28.
"Fifty days after Firstfruits, we stay up late reading Scripture, praying for fresh fire, and asking YHUH: ‘Send Your wind again!’"
Fall Feasts - The Second Coming of Messiah
The Trumpet, The Judgment, The Glory
"If the Spring Feasts point to the cross and the empty tomb, the Fall Feasts point to the crown and the coming King. We do not know the day or hour, but we know the season. And we are watching with joyful sobriety."
Yom Teruah (Trumpets) -
The Awakening Blast
"In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable" - 1 Corinthians 15:52.
"We blow the shofar. We sound the alarm. Not in fear, but in ready anticipation: ‘Maranatha! Come, Lord Yahusha!’"
Yom Kippur (Atonement) -
The Day of Covering
"For on this day atonement shall be made for you to cleanse you, you shall be clean before YHUH from all your sins" - Leviticus 16:30.
"We do not offer goats or bulls. Messiah is our final Atonement. But we humble ourselves with fasting and prayer, saying: ‘Search me, O YHUH, and know my heart.’"
Sukkot (Tabernacles) -
YHUH Dwells With Us
"Behold, the dwelling of God is with mankind, and He will tabernacle with them" - Revelation 21:3.
"For seven days we build temporary shelters, not because we are homeless, but because this world is not our home. We eat, laugh, worship, and invite our neighbors. Because Sukkot is a foretaste of the wedding supper."
